Bathroom/Toilet
A coin operated laundry is located on the same level as
the apartment.
All linen, quilts and towels
are available at the apartment. We ask that if families use the Max’s Place
Manchester, it all be washed, folded and put away prior to leaving the
apartment at the end of their stay if possible.
Items families
will need to bring:
Families are welcome to bring linen if they would like
although it is not essential as there is plenty of linen and towels at the
apartment.
There is a phone in the apartment which allows for
incoming calls to be received. Emergency numbers can be called. For all
other calls, families need to purchase a ‘Phone Away Card’. The number of
the card needs to be punched in to the phone prior to a call – the cost of
the call will be deducted from the phone card.
We recommend that families bring food that will cover
meals for the first couple of days, (if possible) to allow families to
settle in without the added stress of having to do shopping as soon as they
get to Melbourne. (McDonalds is located on the ground level of the
Children’s Hospital and there is also a Café/Snack Shop and a Cafeteria for
hot meals, which are both on the first level in the hospital.)
Families will need to bring all personal items:
clothing, toiletries etc.
Information for
families
An information folder at the apartment lists local
businesses families may need while staying in Melbourne (including shops,
Centrelink offices, etc). The folder also has
some information on transport (trams), emergency contacts, local attractions
and more. Phone books and a street directory to help you find your way are
also at the apartment..
In
the memory of a beautiful babe, an amazing and very loved son, brother and
twin –
MAX DENNIS
HENRY ROUND (HLHS).
Max’s Place
is proudly offered to families to help them with accommodation whilst their
babes are undergoing treatment at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
We wish you
all the very best and we will be thinking of all the special families who
stay at Max’s Place and their very special babes. These babies have so much
hope. Always keep the hope.
