Wow, Three
Amazing Years with our little prince. He is truly the light in our lives. He has
grown so much and has become quite independent. He loves Thomas the Engine right
now and of course, is a huge Yankee fan. His Birthday celebration was quite
special, especially since three of his friends, Nicholas T, Alexa and Nicholas
F, all of whom also have special hearts and who were in the hospital with him,
were able to join us. Our family and friends also helped to make this day extra
special.
Lord, thank you for choosing us to be Mommy and Daddy to such a special little
boy. Every day with him is a miracle and every day we fall more and more in love
with him. We promise to take care of him, Lord and to raise him to give praise
and glory to you for all you have done in his life.

We went back to CHOP today for a Sedated echo and follow-up visit with Dr. Rychik.
Well, Jaden is not going to have the Fontan in the Spring. He weighs about 25lbs and they would like him to be a little bigger for this next Stage. Dr. Rychik was very happy with his Echo and said his heart function is very well. Out of a 10, he said it was a 9. He still has a mild to moderate leaky tricuspid valve, but no change from our last echo. Therefore, no need for intervention at this time. We will have a follow-up visit in September. If he can gain a little more weight (about 5lbs) then we will proceed with his Fontan in the Fall. If not, then it will most likely be next year. Although, I’m somewhat anxious to get this stage behind us, I’m also relieved. Dr. Rychik felt it better to wait sometime and felt that if we went along with the surgery now, he would have a setback in his growth. His growth chart showed he’s going through a growth spurt right now and since his heart function is very good again, there is no need for surgery at this time. Thank you again for all your prayers.
With all our love,
Louie & Liz

Mom, all ready for my 1st Yankee Game!!!!
April 9, 2005
What an Incredible day!!!! Jaden went to his first Yankee Game at Yankee Stadium. He was beyond excited, from his train ride to the Stadium to actually getting there and seeing all the fans. He was ecstatic. I must say, I too was quite overwhelmed with joy. He was such a true fan, yelling for all his players and believe me, he knows them all. Of course, he always mentions Jeter first. Thank you Lord, for giving us such a special day!!! It is so wonderful to see him enjoy something so much, to see his eyes light up brings tears to my eyes, his joy!!! He deserves this especially after having a tough Easter. On Easter day, we went to the Emergency room with a temp. of about 103. The doctors checked him for infection, but thankfully did not find anything. It was just viral. Of course, because of his heart they wanted to make sure and so they had to put an intravenous line in, just precautionary. If his white blood count cell showed an infection then they wanted to administer antibiotics and did not want to have to prick him twice. He was a mess and struggled with the nurses, but we made it through that and here he is at YANKEE STADIUM!!!

GO JETER, GO!!!!! |
Me , Titi, and Mommy. Could anyone love the Yankees more? NOT |

Babe Ruth, Damaggio, This is way too much to handle. What a day!!!!
Jaden is doing extremely well. He is very active and playful. He loves playing sports. His favorite, of course is Baseball. He loves the YANKEES. When he wakes up in the morning, he wants to watch the YES channel (Yankee channel). He enjoys playing basketball with his daddy,
dancing with his Titi (Auntie) and playing the Guitar with his Grandpa.
Developmentally, Jaden is doing very well. He has progressed so much that he no longer is in need of Early Intervention Services.
In April, Jaden will go for a Sedated Echocardiogram. At this time, we will have a better idea of when
he will undergo his Fontan surgery. We are looking at either spring or fall of this year depending on his weight gain. He is still below the 5th percentile. The doctors are not concerned with his weight, because he is still gaining, although at a slow pace.
I will end this update with a Thank you for everyone’s support and prayers and ask that you continue to pray for Jaden. Please visit our website again for updates on our little angel.
Love, Louie & Liz
